Artificial Life

From ElateWiki

Game developers have been creating a new form of digital life known as A-life or "artificial life," which is a complex digital ecosystem with interrelated pieces. Here, there are individualized robots that behave independently and interdependently with other 'bots.

These entities are placed in "fitness landscapes," where they have different levels of thriving.

A-life is also used for well known games.

Contents

Actions from Nature

A-life includes the programming of flocking and swarming behaviors, and other biology-based observed actions.

Applications in Practice

A-life scientists use such simulations to study self-organization and evolutionary change in complex systems. Such A-life simulations have been used to simulate the confrontation of catastrophe natural disasters.
